Deucalion

The hero who survived the flood and renewed humanity.

The most famous Deucalion of Greek mythology was the mythical founder of the Greeks, son of Prometheus. Once Jupiter decided to destroy the human race because of his disrespect and evil and caused a cataclysm. But Prometheus had advised Deucalion to make with his wife Pyrra a shrine, that is, an ark. Inside, they put a lot of supplies so they can feed. Nine days and nine nights sailed the larnaca over the waters. Eventually he stood up on Parnassus. There Deucalion sacrificed to the gods and wished to re-live the earth. Why was he alone with his wife surviving the cataclysm. Then Zeus advised Deucalion and Pyrra to throw behind their mother's bones behind their heads. They understood the meaning of his words and started throwing stones behind them. The rocks that were cast by Deucalion became men and the ones that Pyrra threw women. So the human race was renewed.

The second Deucalion was the son of Minos, King of Crete, and Pasifais, his brother Idomeneas. He had taken part in the hunting of the Kalydonius boar.
